Evan A. Nielsen

Evan A. Nielsen, the Firm's founder, has a diverse background in law, technology and business, which has allowed him to take a holistic approach to protect and improve client's interests and advocate on their behalf. His emphasis in tax preparation, IRS issue resolution and Tax planning strategies is enhanced by his business and technological understanding and grasp of the issues facing individuals and small businesses. He understands the opportunities and challenges facing entrepreneurs in today's dynamic economic climate, having founded, owned, acquired, or operated businesses in a wide range of industries himself prior to entering the legal profession full time.

His past experience includes involvement in the fields of technology & software, semiconductors, healthcare, real estate, insurance, financial services & securities, construction, manufacturing, heavy equipment, transportation, airlines, direct marketing, and retail. As an attorney, Evan has assisted taxpayers in recovering hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax refunds. This is the result of his understanding of the tax code, business structures and finance and accounting methods. As a result, the Firm's clients routinely enjoy the benefit of additional tax refunds they had not anticipated.

Through his efforts, the Firm as a whole, maintains an excellent working relationship with local and national IRS offices and has effectively resolved IRS audit/review issues for the Firm's clients. In 2017 he was appointed by the IRS to a three-year term as an alternate member of the national Taxpayer Advocacy Panel. His efforts have been instrumental in the Firm's success at crafting tax strategies that result in substantial tax savings for individuals and small business owners while reducing audit risk. Mr. Nielsen take an active role in preparing client tax returns and believes that this level of involvement is necessary to ensure true tax planning benefits for the Firm's clients.

Prior to his focusing on the Firm's strategic growth in the tax areas, Mr. Nielsen represented clients in a number of other areas including Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Practices Act (RESPA) and the Bankruptcy Code (TITLE 11). He has helped bring resolution to complicated real estate transactions involving multiple properties, lenders and states. He has successfully negotiated settlements from small pre-foreclosure balances to multi-million deficiency amounts. He has assisted clients in setting up business structures, partnership agreements and contracts that help to ensure business agreements last and are mutually beneficial, minimize tax ramifications and maximize liability protection. Evan has also assisted clients with asset protection and estate planning.
